Greetings from the forest!!
It is hard to believe, but our Share-a-month has come to an end, and the Christmas program is just around the corner.
We love to spend the entire month of November in Thanksgiving. The first Sunday was our Share-a-Melody Sunday. We sang the congregation's favorite songs, and had an instrumental special that consisted of two hammered dulcimers, two guitar players, and a bass player. We also had a ladies duet. The Lord told us to speak to ourselves in Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord. The next week was Share-a-Missionary Sunday. We had the Murray family from North Carolina come and present their burden to go to Bolivia. They were with us for all services. Brother Robert Murray shared a power point presentation during Sunday School, and he preached in the evening service. There are millions of people in that small area that need the Lord. We thank the Lord for all who go to the world to tell the greatest news on the planet - The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The next Sunday through Tuesday was our Share-a-Meeting. On Monday evening we had a men's quartet from Central Baptist come and sing 8 songs for us. It was a great service and well attended. On Tuesday evening we concluded the meeting with news that Brother Bob Ezell was in the hospital with pneumonia. He went home to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving morning. The Lord has welcomed home so many of our church family over the past two years. While they are rejoicing in heaven, we who are still waiting to meet the Lord are left to go on. No wonder the song writer said, "There will be a happy meeting in heaven I know".
We ended our Share-a-Month with Share-a-Ministry. I preached on the Ministry of Reconciliation in the morning service, and on I Thessalonians 1 in the evening service. I concluded with the vision of the ministry here at Faith Baptist Church, and our desire to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves; to be growing and maturing in the Word of God, and to give the gospel to all we can. The Bible says to occupy till He comes.
